Rethinking FMEA for Today’s Manufacturing Landscape Considering Innovation in Risk Analysis
摘要
Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) has long been a cornerstone of risk management and reliability engineering, providing a systematic method for identifying potential failure points, evaluating risks, and implementing mitigation measures. In the current manufacturing landscape—shaped by rapid technological advancement, complex supply chains, and heightened expectations for quality—there is a compelling need to rethink and adapt FMEA to stay relevant. By embracing innovation in risk analysis, manufacturers can use FMEA not only to prevent failures but also to improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance product reliability in ways that traditional methods alone may not accomplish (J.
