Research on Ultrasonic Fatigue Strengthening Repair Methods for Titanium Alloy Component Crack
摘要
To address the issues of stress concentration and limited fatigue life improvement in repairing fatigue cracks in titanium alloys using the crack-arrest hole method, this paper proposes a hybrid repair approach combining “ultrasonic impact treatment (UIT) + crack-arrest hole.” UIT is first applied to the crack tip region to induce surface plastic deformation and compressive residual stress, followed by drilling the arrest hole. The synergistic effect of the two techniques is exploited: UIT improves the stress distribution around the hole and inhibits crack re‑initiation, while the arrest hole further alleviates stress concentration and retards crack propagation. Experimental results demonstrate that, compared with the single crack‑arrest hole method, the hybrid method offers significant advantages in fatigue performance and structural integrity, providing a more efficient technical solution for crack repair of titanium alloy components.
