Numerical Simulation of Galvanic Corrosion for Typical Steel/Aluminum Structures of Vehicles
摘要
The galvanic corrosion behavior of AA6016/DC01 couples was investigated via finite element analysis using COMSOL Multiphysics. The numerical model established in this paper considers the diffusion of solution ions, anodic dissolution process, and the hindering effect of corrosion products. The results show that the model developed in this paper is in good agreement with the experimental results for the galvanic corrosion of AA6016/DC01 couple. Furthermore, numerical simulation enables rapid prediction of galvanic current distribution in practical complex structures, such as self-piercing riveted joints and lap joints, thereby providing critical guidance for galvanic corrosion protection.
