Study on Electrodeposition of Aluminum from NaF-NaCl-NaAlO2-Based Melts
摘要
The new method of aluminum electrolysis had been studied, and more in-depth and detailed conclusions had been obtained. From the experiments of preparing metal aluminum by molten salt electrolysis of NaF-NaCl-NaAlO2, it can be concluded that NaAlO2 plays an extremely important role in the experiment by the molten salt electrolysis, but the NaAlO2 solubility in the melt was lower than that of Al2O3 in Na3AlF6-AlF3 molten salt, which was one of the main worthy study problems in the future. NaAlO2 had a certain solubility in the NaF-NaCl molten salt of about 0.302-4.103% as the temperature range of 750-1050°C. According to the phase diagram of A1-Cu binary alloy, the produced aluminum can react with copper powder laid at the bottom of the crucible to produce intermetallic compounds and solid solutions. The new process of preparing metallic aluminum by NaF-NaCl-NaAlO2 molten salt electrolysis was feasible.
