Estimation of Deformation Zone Parameters and Their Influence on Microstructure and Properties Formation of Aluminum Strip while Cold Rolling
摘要
Cold rolling of aluminum alloy strips from 15 to 10 mm thickness was carried out at rolls rotational speed 20 and 80 rev/min. A fourfold increase in the rolls rotational speed results in a slight increase in hardness up to 3%. The strips microstructure consists of deformed grains and it has strongly expressed axial deformation texture along <111> and <100> directions. Experimental rolling was simulated using QForm Finite Element Method (FEM) software. Strong positive correlation between hardness and accumulated strain in the middle of the strip along the deformation zone length was found. The computer simulation results showed that a fourfold increase in the rolls rotational speed increasing, and consequently the rolling speed led to a slight shift of neutral line up to 0.4 mm oppositely to rolling direction, that is, to a decrease in the backward slip zone length. The relationship between backward slip zone length and stamping texture fraction was detected. The technique to locate neutral line on the basis of hardness variation along the deformation zone length was designed. The comparison of the neutral line locations was done. At that, the first location was detected through computer simulation, the second—according to the designed technique by hardness examining.
