Parameter Optimization and Performance Study of Laser Cladding Inconel718/Cu/Ti-6Al-4V Composite Cladding Layer on Vermicular Cast Iron Surface
摘要
To address the poor wear resistance of vermicular cast iron surfaces, a composite coating of Inconel718 (IN718), Cu, and Ti (Provided by TC4) was fabricated by using laser cladding, with parameter optimization and comprehensive performance characterization. The results demonstrate that at 1800 W laser power, 1.5 g/min powder feed rate, and 6 mm/s scan speed, the coating exhibited none crack formation or pore generation, while the coating achieved the maximum hardness of 470 HV0.5. Additionally, hard phases of in-situ formed TiC and Cr23C6, along with the lubricative Cu, were observed within the coating. The upper coating region exhibits agglomerated TiC microstructures. A comparative analysis of wear resistance between the coating and substrate reveals superior performance in the coating. At room temperature, the wear mechanism was primarily abrasive wear, while at 500 °C, due to increased surface oxidation, the dominant wear mechanisms were oxidative wear and abrasive wear.
