摘要

The mechanisms of the formation and destruction process of surface films were systematically investigated in different solutions. The electrochemical corrosion thermodynamics of Mg alloys are analyzed by equilibrium potential and Gibbs free energy. Meanwhile, the experimental data evidenced that the compactness and integrity of corrosion products films on the surface of Mg alloy depend on its corrosion mechanisms. Moreover, the occurrences of hydrogen evolution corrosion and oxygen absorption corrosion are remarkably affected by pH and Cl-. It was confirmed that the formation process of Mg2Cl(OH)3·4H2O needs to consume H+. Finally, formulas based on the corrosion mechanisms were proposed to describe the corrosion rates of alloy.
