摘要

The outcome of the experimental study is to explore the compatibility of wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) to process precipitation-hardened nickel-chromium alloy IN718. This study is to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of WAAM in the fabrication of complex parts with this contemporary material. Various properties are examined in detail, such as mechanical characteristics, effect of bead geometry, wear resistance and microstructural examination. The results demonstrate WAAM’s potential for versatile applications requiring complex geometries and exceptional material qualities by demonstrating its ability to make high-quality components with appropriate mechanical properties. This study also confirms the deployment of WAAM process in the manufacturing of IN718 alloy components.
