An Investigation on Corrosion Behavior and Mechanism of CoCrFeNi HEA in NaCl Solution under Direct Current Interference

摘要

The effect of DC interference on corrosion behavior and mechanism of CoCrFeNi HEA in simulated marine environment was systemically explored. The results reveal that DC application weakens the completeness, density, and protection of surface passive film. With increasing iDC, Ep shifts negatively, Rct rapidly decreases, and ip remarkably increases, demonstrating that the imposed DC reduces the resistance to pitting of the HEA and its anti-corrosion property. The increased corrosion degree is attributed to the promotion of electrochemical reaction by hydrogen produced by DC interference. Moreover, the pitting is induced by the main dissolution of Ni element.
