摘要

Due to the excellent mechanical and biocompatibility properties, Ti-based alloys are widely used in engineering, such as aerospace, and medical applications, such as implants. Currently, the TiAlNb-based alloys are replacing traditional TiAlV-based alloys due to their enhanced strength and biocompatibility. In this work, the warm temperature deformation behavior of the Ti-6Al-7Nb alloy is investigated over a temperature range of 300 to 600 °C. The alloy’s response to deformation is examined at a constant strain rate of 0.01 s−1 using a Gleeble thermomechanical simulator testing apparatus. The microstructure and hardness of the alloy after warm deformation were examined to determine the effect of deformation on the mechanical properties. The results reveal that the recovery of the alloy occurs once the temperature during the deformation reaches above 500 °C, thus facilitating the material to undergo deformation at lower stress levels.
