摘要

This study aims to assess the processability of linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) combined with bamboo wood in rotational molding applications. A comprehensive analysis was conducted, incorporating various tests such as melt flow index (MFI), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), water absorption, and thermal analysis via differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). FTIR analysis confirmed successful integration of bamboo fibers, indicating a homogeneous blend up to a 20% concentration. However, beyond this concentration, bamboo dominance becomes more pronounced. MFI tests revealed a flowability range of 3.8-3.09 g/10 min for compositions containing 5-10 wt.% bamboo, deemed suitable for rotational molding. LLDPE mixed with 10% bamboo showed a notable 9.22% water absorption, possibly affecting composite mechanical properties. Thermal analysis unveiled an elevation in melting temperature to 125.43 °C and 125.50 °C for compositions containing 5% and 8% bamboo, respectively, accompanied by enhanced crystallinity (40.65% and 39.52%). These alterations contribute to heightened thermal resistance. Overall, bamboo content levels below 10% in LLDPE offer potential for further mechanical investigations, offering valuable insights for diverse engineering applications utilizing bamboo/LLDPE composites. Natural fillers are perfect for enhancing aesthetics, making them an excellent choice for consumer products such as garden equipment and accessories for furniture.
