摘要

The effects of two different aging methods, two-step, and traditional one-step aging treatment, on the microstructures and tensile properties of the Mg-10Gd-5Y-0.6Mn-0.5Ca and Mg-13Gd-4Y-0.6Mn-0.6Ca extruded alloys are investigated and compared. The results indicate that the two aging methods have unobvious effects on the type of secondary phases for the two as-extruded experimental alloys. However, the tensile properties at room temperature for the two as-extruded alloys might be effectively improved by the two different aging methods, thereinto the improvement of the two-step aging treatment is relatively higher than that of the traditional one-step aging treatment, which is possibly related to the relatively larger amount of the precipitated Mg7(Gd, Y) and Mg5(Gd, Y) phases during the two-step treatment than those during the one-step aging treatment. In future works, the optimization about the process parameters of the two-step aging treatment for Mg-Gd-Y-Mn-based alloys needs to be considered.
