摘要

Transition metal-based double perovskite oxide (DPO) Eu2NiMnO6 (ENMO) has emerged as a promising research candidate for its rich physics and various technological aspects. In this work, thin film of DPO ENMO was synthesized by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) and its structural and optical properties were studied. Room-temperature x-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy confirmed its typical monoclinic structure. X-ray photoemission spectroscopy revealed the presence of oxygen vacancies in the ENMO lattice. The narrow optical band gap determined from the UV–visible absorption spectroscopy confirmed its semiconductor behaviour. Moreover, the synthesized ENMO thin film demonstrates high photosensivity under white light, suggesting its promising potential for photo-sensing devices. The outstanding photodetector performance of PLD-deposited ENMO thin film is attributed to its narrow optical band gap and adequate visible light absorption. In addition, ENMO thin film was synthesized by a simple and scalable spin-coating technique, and its structural properties and optical band gap were studied. The facile synthesis of ENMO film using a chemical solution will draw further research interest in exploring its semiconducting and photo-sensing properties in the future.
