<p>In the current study, a novel dimensionless slag entrainment number, Zc, combining the effects of the geometry of the continuous casting (CC) mold and nozzle, operating parameters, physical properties of the steel and slag, and turbulent flow, was proposed to predict slag entrainment during the CC process. The accuracy and applicability of the slag entrainment prediction using the dimensionless slag entrainment number Zc have been successfully validated by numerical simulations.</p>
