<p>Austenite grain growth in the segregation region of Cr–Mo–V oil casing steel bloom via different holding temperatures was conducted. The results indicated that at 1150&#xa0;°C, VC pinned grain boundaries and alloying elements such as Mo exerted a solute drag effect, both of which hindered grain growth. In contrast, at 1250&#xa0;°C, grain refinement occurred solely due to the solute drag effect. Furthermore, when the temperature increased to 1350&#xa0;°C, rapid grain growth and local remelting in the segregation region appeared.</p>
