In Situ Observation and Growth Kinetics of Primary and Eutectic Structures in a Hypereutectic Cu–Ti Alloy
摘要
A typical hypereutectic Cu–Ti alloy has been prepared via the liquid-solid reaction approach. It is revealed that the ensuing bulky Cu–61 at. pct Ti alloy is featured by the presence of primary CuTi2 and eutectic (CuTi + CuTi2) structures. Furthermore, by utilizing confocal scanning laser microscope (CSLM), for the first time, the solidification process of Cu–Ti alloys has been documented in situ, and the growth kinetics of primary CuTi2 and eutectic structures has been quantified.
