摘要

Single crystal nickel-based superalloys are critical materials for the hot sections of aero engines and industrial gas turbines. Operating in harsh environments, single crystal components must meet strict technical specifications regarding metallurgical defects. Recrystallization as one of these defects has been a long-standing challenge in the manufacturing industry. This paper reviews the recent work in understanding the deformation of the as-cast single crystal superalloys, the mechanisms of recrystallization nucleation and growth, and factors influencing recrystallization behaviors. The impact on mechanical properties and recent progress in recrystallization detection and control strategies for single crystal components are also discussed.
