摘要

Fine B2 precipitates are observed to form in an FCC matrix during post-deformation annealing of Al0.2CoCrFeNi at 700 °C. These pin the grain boundaries, resulting in a very stable microstructure and superior combination of strength and ductility. In contrast, annealing at 900 °C produces a single-phase FCC alloy which undergoes rapid grain growth with a Hall–Petch-type reduction in hardness. The grain growth exponent departs from the classical square-root time dependence for both alloys.
