摘要

It is well-known that constrained groove pressing (CGP) process leads to strain inhomogeneities and anisotropy . This study aims to address these issues and enhance the mechanical properties of Cu sheets by employing an innovative cross-route (CR) process with newly designed symmetric constrained constant radius pressing (CCRP) dies. The cross-route process offers a primary advantage over conventional CGP by ensuring greater strain homogeneity in both longitudinal (LD) and transverse directions (TD).Pure copper sheets were processed using CCRP and CCRP-CR techniques with dies of three distinct radii (R1, R2, and R3). Comparisons between 2-pass CCRP and 1-pass CCRP-CR methods revealed significant enhancements in toughness, with R1 and R2 dies in the CCRP-CR process achieving threefold and twofold improvements, respectively, over the CGP method. The inhomogeneity factor (IF) decreased by approximately 31 and 26 pct for R1 and R2 dies, highlighting improved strain uniformity. EBSD analysis confirmed that these gains resulted from uniform grain refinement. This study establishes that CCRP-CR surpasses CCRP in achieving uniform strain distribution and reducing mechanical anisotropy, offering a superior alternative to the CGP process in refining the mechanical behavior of deformed materials.
