In this article from the Zeitschrift für Psychodrama und Soziometrie sociodrama is introduced as an invigorating method for various group formats and as a tool for simulating complex social systems. The contribution illuminates various applications and mechanisms of sociodrama, placing special focus on its unique effective factors. Furthermore, the author discusses sociodrama as an alternative approach to conventional methods of personality development. Particularly, the connection between self-optimization and neoliberal trends is analyzed and sociodrama is highlighted as a means of exploring these phenomena in today’s society.
