Weiterbildungsdatenbanken aus der Perspektive von Weiterbildungsanbietern: Eine Vignettenstudie zu auswahlrelevanten Merkmalen
摘要
Internet-based continuing education databases aim to provide transparency regarding continuing education offerings. Due to the large number of these portals, providers must decide whether and where to advertise their offerings. However, the underlying selection criteria have hardly been researched to date. Therefore, a vignette study was conducted as part of wbmonitor 2022 to examine which database-specific characteristics influence the likelihood of providers using them. The selection of characteristics is based on theoretical considerations and the few available empirical findings. A total of 1743 continuing education providers evaluated four fictitious databases in terms of their likelihood of use (n = 6841 vignettes). Random intercept models revealed similarities and differences between provider types, including the basic use of databases. Generally, an economic orientation dominates; the cost of a database is the most important factor influencing the probability of use. The results are discussed in detail and classified according to the heterogeneity of the continuing education sector and educational policy implications.
