<p>The article delineates initial experiences garnered from an external gender mainstreaming consultancy involving participants in various specialized projects within a&#xa0;state administration. Herein, the application of a&#xa0;four-step matrix for gender analysis was tried and tested, and opportunity-oriented implementation measures were developed for the respective specialized projects. The consultancy was related to empowering the individuals involved to identify aspects relevant to gender equality at the earliest stage of a&#xa0;project’s planning in order to preclude possible gender-specific discrimination or to redress existing inequalities.</p>

摘要
