Leader-in-Extremis: Neil Armstrong in der Filmbiographie „Aufbruch zum Mond“ – ein Fallbeispiel für Führung bei Gefahr für „Leib und Leben“
摘要
Leadership-in-Extremis means leadership when there is danger to “life and limb”. This also applies to manned space travel, as is clearly documented in Chazelle’s biopic “First Man” (2018). NASA’s resumption of the moon landing program is an opportunity for the author to examine the characteristics of leadership in extreme situations and relate them to Neil Armstrong’s leadership style in the Apollo project. Final reflections concern the need for adjusting interventions when coaching leaders in extreme situations. Due to the current national and international escalation of violent conflicts and wars primary to tertiary preventative coaching offers can be useful.
