Coaching von Führungskräften in Business Schools und deren Leadership Development-Programme

The article highlights the prominent role executive coaching has taken in the context of business school leadership development programs. Coaching is supposed to serve as safe transitional space to support the professionalization of leadership role development and by that opening new career and even life options. The target audience of these programs are looked at from two perspectives: their obvious career and life goals as well as their more tacit motivations and drivers. A new positioning of programs as “identity workspaces” target personality and biography of the individual leader with a promise of transformation and portability. The conclusion is considering the implications of this new agenda for executive coaching for both, coaches and the participants as coachees.
