Gender – Fälle und Fallen

Based on a workshop held at the 2023 BASTA conference “Shifts in Written and Spoken Word”, the text explores moments in which we might encounter “gender” in work related counselling. Against the background of attachment theory, and with a special focus on “opinion” and “violation taboo” (as in exaggerated and constant fear of causing emotional damage), “gender traps” are discussed, using three case examples. Suggestions are then made for maintaining the ability to speak and act in a supervisory capacity.
