Global women leadership and career development
摘要
This article in the journal ‘Gruppe. Interaktion. Organisation. (GIO)’ draws on two contrasting case studies—a leadership initiative for female social workers in rural India and a career development program for female scientists in Austria. Exploring recurring themes, context-specific challenges, and emerging patterns in women’s leadership development. Across distinct geographies and sectors, the diversity of facilitators and participants, spanning class, ethnicity, and academic or professional background interacts dynamically with each setting. Drawing on the idea of field theory as articulated by Kurt Lewin, the analysis foregrounds this evolving space of interaction as the field where leadership journeys are co-created. The comparison offers meta-level conclusions on how context, diversity, and relational dynamics shape the possibilities and limitations of leadership development for women across global settings.
