Sense-Making zwischen Widerstand und Implementierung – Führung als Kopplung differenter Sinnformen im Kontext der digitalen Transformation von Meta-Organisationen
摘要
The article in the journal “Gruppe. Interaktion. Organisation (GIO)” describes digital leadership in meta-organizations from a theoretical perspective. It focuses on the differences in the operability of various forms of sense-making within the digital-analog sense-making system of modern society. Digitalization processes in welfare associations highlight structural ambiguities within this type of meta-organization. Newly emerging informal structures reflect a conflict between optimistic proponents of digitization and social work professionals, who are critical of it, which contributes to the increased complexity of digital leadership forms. Findings from an empirical study of two social welfare organizations demonstrate that, today digital leadership primarily involves navigating differences between various forms of sense-making. By striking a balance between dissolving and resistant forms of sense-making and fostering coalitions of the willing, leadership work can support the digital organization of social welfare as a productive hybrid sense-making system.
