Based on Chantal Mouffe’s political theory, the author develops the concept that collective conflict avoidance strategies, general norms and self-optimization strategies represent serious obstacles to discovering the political dimension in groups. Using scenes from a group dynamic training as an example, she shows the consequences for the conceptual know-how and practical actions of group dynamic consultants, trainers and coaches.
