摘要

Using the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), our study contributes to a better understanding of the mechanisms of these action-guiding conditions of “healthy leadership.” Managerial support is crucial for the successful implementation of health-promoting work design measures in organizations. There is little evidence on the conditions that lead managers to engage in the design of healthier working conditions for employees. The superior role of organizational norms and their interactions with other TPB predictors could be empirically confirmed using regression analyses with parallel mediation. Based on longitudinally collected data, the study could show that health-related organizational norms are of importance in attracting managers to design health-promoting working conditions. The results provide indications why these norms have an impact on health-promoting leadership behavior. The results can be used for the theoretical further development of the process model of “healthy leadership” by identifying essential action-guiding conditions that encourage managers to lead in a health-promoting manner.
