摘要

The discontinuities of the first order derivatives of a Monge–Ampère system propagate along rays on the wave surface as solutions of a Bernoulli differential system. Peter Lax’s condition of linear degeneracy follows Euler’s variational principle as an extremum of the wave velocity.
