A mini review on the role of carbon dots for supercapacitor application
摘要
There has been a lot of interest in energy storage technology because of the shortage of energy, environmental concerns, and dependence on non-renewable energy sources. High power density, quick charging and discharging, and extended cycle stability are some of the characteristics of supercapacitors. Many sectors have been attracted to supercapacitors since they are extremely effective energy storage devices. Presently, carbon dots and their hybrid composites are used as electrode materials for supercapacitors. Carbon dots, with their unique features, are widely used in various fields like biomedicals, sensors, catalysis, and energy storage. This mini review demonstrated adequate literature on the introduction, fabrication, and properties of carbon dots, the use of carbon dots, and their hybrid materials as electrode materials for supercapacitors. Furthermore, some significant recent studies and possible future aspects were also discussed.
