Effects of co-coating La2O3 and TiO2 on tissue morphology and electrochemical properties of LiMn2O4 cathode materials

摘要

In this study, the impact of single-coating and co-coating of La2O3 and TiO2 on the structural and electrochemical properties of LiMn2O4 cathode materials was investigated. Herein, La2O3 and TiO2 were utilized as the coating materials. The results reveal that the electrochemical performance of LiMn2O4 cathode materials is improved to varying degrees after coating, among which the La2O3 and TiO2 co-coated LiMn2O4 cathode materials demonstrated superior structural stability and electrochemical performance. Furthermore, the co-coated material achieved a capacity retention rate of 94.32% after 100 cycles at 1C. The initial discharge specific capacity was 108.74 mAh g−1. In the multiplication test, a recovery rate of 96.78% was observed, and a high reversible discharge specific capacity of 95.02 mAh g−1 was obtained at a high multiplication of 10 C. Moreover, the co-coated LiMn2O4 cathode material was characterized by high specific capacity and high reversible capacity. Thus, this study demonstrates that co-coating is beneficial for improving the electrochemical performance of LiMn2O4 cathode materials, providing an effective strategy for their coating modification.
