摘要

Exploring effective strategies for improving the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) activity of transition metal phosphides is of vital importance for boosting hydrogen production via water electrolysis. However, it is still a forbidden challenge. Herein, we introduced a porous and rough Pt-NiCoP catalyst by adding a minimal 1 wt% Pt. The as-prepared sample can deliver outstanding HER activity and stability in alkaline media. A detailed study uncovered that the strong coupling interaction between Pt atoms and NiCoP not only improved the electrical conductivity of the catalyst to facilitate electron transfer but also ensured the exposure of rich active sites. Moreover, Pt atoms can also activate the Ni/Co sites, reduce the water dissociation energy barrier, and then optimize the hydrogen binding energy of NiCoP.
