Neue Antiinfektiva
摘要
Due to the rapidly increasing worldwide problem of microbial resistance, particularly due to nonindicated antibiotic use and livestock fattening, most newly approved antibiotics have the status of limited-access antibiotics. These are primarily combinations of cephalosporin and beta-lactamase inhibitor (BLI) for use against multidrug-resistant, Gram-negative pathogens and “problem germs” that are difficult to treat due to their normal genetic make-up, such as Stenotrophomonas maltophilia or Acinetobacter baumanii. Monoclonal antibodies, e.g., against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and specific bacteriophages, provide additional strategies. Further innovative substances are in the developmental pipeline. Nevertheless, the most important measure remains prevention, including through consistent basic hygiene and vaccinations as well as through responsible policy.
