Kardiale Diagnostik bei chronischer Nierenkrankheit
摘要
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a known risk factor for cardiovascular diseases and is associated with a significantly increased risk of dying from cardiovascular diseases. The decisive factor for the correct and timely diagnosis of a cardiovascular disease in CKD is the choice of an adequate cardiac imaging technique, which then enables the initiation of an appropriate treatment, such as conservative pharmaceutical, interventional or cardiac surgery. Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) should always be used as the basic diagnostic tool as it is widely spread, noninvasive and needs relatively little technical effort; however, a disadvantage of TTE is the high interobserver variability regarding the interpretation of results. Depending on the results of the TTE further diagnostic examination procedures should follow, which also include direct or indirect visualization of coronary perfusion. Further improvements in cardiac imaging that are expected due to increasing digital computing power, especially in the field of coronary computed tomography (CT) angiography, give hope for a further increase in diagnostic quality in the future.
