<p>The loggerhead sea turtle (<i>Caretta caretta</i>) is widely distributed in the coastal waters of Brazil; however, reports on fungal diversity in nests and eggs remain limited. This study investigated the occurrence of fungi from the genera <i>Aspergillus</i>, <i>Penicillium</i>, and <i>Talaromyces</i> in unhatched eggs and nest sand along the coast of Ipojuca, Pernambuco, Brazil. Samples were collected from three nests on the beaches of Porto de Galinhas, Muro Alto, and Maracaípe. Fungi were isolated by suspending the samples in 0.1% peptone water and plating them on various culture media with chloramphenicol. A total of 207 isolates were obtained, of which 135 (65.2%) belonged to <i>Aspergillus</i> (27.04%), <i>Penicillium</i> (32.84%), and <i>Talaromyces</i> (5.31%). In the genus <i>Penicillium</i>, 11 species were detected, including two new species, <i>P. carettae</i> sp. nov. and <i>P. flavotestudinum</i> sp. nov., described based on their distinctive morphological features and phylogenetic position. Notes on these new species are provided. Eight species were identified within <i>Aspergillus</i> (<i>A. flavus</i>, <i>A. hortae</i>, <i>A. insulicola</i>, <i>A. niger</i>, <i>A. sydowii</i>, <i>A. tamarii, A. terreus</i>, and <i>A. unguis</i>) and four within <i>Talaromyces</i> (<i>T. albobiverticillius</i>, <i>T. alveolaris</i>, <i>T. pigmentosus</i>, and <i>T. wortmannii</i>). Species such as <i>A. sydowii</i> and <i>P. citrinum</i> were abundant in both eggs and sand, while all <i>Talaromyces</i> species were exclusively found inside the eggs. For the first time, 19 species were reported from sea turtle nests. This study represents the first investigation in Brazil focusing on fungi from <i>C. caretta</i> nests, contributing to the understanding of <i>Aspergillus</i>, <i>Penicillium</i>, and <i>Talaromyces</i> diversity in tropical ecosystems.</p>
