Digitalisierungseffekte in Pflegeeinrichtungen am Beispiel eines videospielbasierten Gesundheitsangebots
摘要
The increasing number of people in need of nursing care and the shortage of skilled labour result in an increasing demand for care services, including inpatient long-term care. Health-promoting approaches are important in order to stabilise the level of care required. The study investigated the extent to which digitalisation approaches such as the gesture-controlled video game console “memoreBox” can provide incentives for health promotion with a focus on care recipients and systematic organisational development.
MethodsThe quantitative analysis was based on secondary data from the “memorePlus” project conducted from 2021–2023 with 89 care facilities in Germany. In addition, an online survey was conducted on the use of technology, digital equipment, acceptance of digital media in everyday working life and readiness for organisational development. The statistical analysis was carried out using hierarchical regression and moderation analyses as well as descriptive methods.
ResultsThe regression analyses showed that the minutes played with the memoreBox (M = 538.0) had a significant influence on its provision as a regular offering. Moderation analyses showed that neither time savings nor low personnel costs influenced the relationship between minutes played and provision. The acceptance of digital media in everyday working life was moderate to high.
ConclusionThe study shows that a high total playing time with the memoreBox promotes its establishment as a permanent activity programme for residents. To achieve this, facilities should implement proactive measures such as adjustments to infrastructure and sufficient resources. Motivation-boosting measures can also promote use. Health promotion measures should go beyond digital services such as the memoreBox.
