Selbsthilfe im Vor- und Umfeld von Pflege
摘要
To cope with the increasing requirement for care and to relieve the burden on family caregivers, innovative concepts are needed. In this context, the establishment and expansion of cooperatively supported self-help structures was promoted at four locations in Baden–Württemberg (Germany). The aim was to investigate which conditions are necessary for the establishment of self-help initiatives and how self-help in the context of care affects the behavior and circumstances of caregivers and those in need of care.
MethodsThe evaluation was carried out by means of an impact analysis, with a methodologically pluralistic research design and qualitative and quantitative survey procedures.
ResultsThe self-help structures that were created resulted in positive changes in the behavior and circumstances of caregivers and those in need of care. However, these developments are based on certain framework conditions. If these are in place, self-help can be a sustainable concept for care.
ConclusionSelf-help in the care and precare environment is a sustainable concept that can supplement and relieve the burden on professional care services. Services should be geared towards the regional conditions and regulations of the federal states.
