Konzeptionelle Gestaltung einer digitalen Begleitung für Betroffene mit Kinderwunsch nach Fehlgeburt – Ergebnisse einer qualitativen Interviewstudie
摘要
Miscarriages are a deeply distressing experience for the affected. In addition to the physical symptoms, they present a significant psychological and emotional burden. Adequate medical and psychological care is crucial, particularly regarding the ongoing desire for children. However, due to the strong taboo surrounding the topic in society, existing support services are often not utilized. To bridge this gap, this study explored the needs and challenges of digital psychosocial support for individuals trying to conceive after miscarriage.
Materials and methodsTo identify intervention goals and content for the digital intervention, qualitative semi-structured interviews were conducted with experts in the field (N = 5) and individuals affected by miscarriage (N = 5). The interviews were pseudonymized, transcribed, and analyzed using deductive and inductive category analysis.
ResultsExperts call for greater societal awareness and an open approach to the topic of miscarriage. As essential intervention aims to support individuals in their ongoing desire to conceive, experts identified (1) effective grief processing, (2) inner stability, (3) acquiring evidence-based knowledge, and (4) involving the partner in the grieving process. The significance of these aims was also confirmed by the affected individuals. Furthermore, exchanging experiences with others facing similar situations was rated as highly important.
ConclusionA digital companion offers a potential way to actively support individuals affected by miscarriage during their ongoing desire to conceive.
