Additionally, we conducted 11&#xa0;expert interviews.</p> Results <p>Data from 28&#xa0;international studies were extracted and validated through expert interviews. Key target groups for mobile vaccinations included children, marginalized populations, and individuals at increased risk of infection due to their occupation or lifestyle (e.g., the elderly). Critical success factors involved targeted communication campaigns and ensuring easy, low-barrier access to services. Along with improved vaccination rates among underserved groups, studies also reported positive secondary effects, such as better utilization of traditional healthcare services. Information on cost-effectiveness was limited.</p> Conclusion <p>Vaccination buses and other mobile services hold potential to increase vaccination rates, especially in underserved populations. This study offers recommendations for implementing pilot projects, which should be accompanied by evaluations to assess impact and cost-effectiveness.</p>

Background

Objective

To evaluate the suitability of vaccination buses as a means to improve vaccination efforts in Germany, identifying key target groups, success factors, and potential risks.

Materials and methods

We conducted a rapid scoping review of the literature on mobile vaccination services, including German and English studies published between 2013 and 2024. Additionally, we conducted 11 expert interviews.

Results
