Durch Social Media bedingte körperdysmorphe Störung bei Kindern und Jugendlichen – primärpräventive Maßnahmen durch Pflegefachpersonen
摘要
There is obviously a connection between the increased use of social media platforms and their beauty filters and the rising number of surgical interventions and the number of people suffering from body dysmorphic disorder. The disease mainly starts in children and young adulthood. Many suffer in silence, which is why the number of unreported cases is probably significantly higher than expected.
AimThe objective of this paper is to identify various primary preventive measures by or with nursing staff. In addition, settings should be found where many children and young people can be reached at the same time. An overview of the current state of research is provided.
MethodsIn order to answer the question, a systematic literature search was performed; in addition a freehand search was carried out. The CINHAL and PubMed databases were used for the systematic literature search. German and English language literature from 2010–2023 was included. The freehand search was carried out using Google Scholar. Ultimately, after the critical assessment of the studies, five of them could be included in this review.
ResultsThere were no results found on primary preventive measures for body dysmorphic disorders. For this reason, the same search for eating disorders took place. Several programs were identified that were successful in the area of eating disorders. An attempt was made to transfer these results to body dysmorphic disorders.
ConclusionThe transfer of the results of eating disorders to body dysmorphic disorders can only be presented theoretically here. From the lack of studies on primary prevention for body dysmorphic disorders, it can be seen that there is still much work to be done in this field.
