<p>A dual-purpose sensor with exceptional sensitivity, based on surface plasmon resonance (SPR), has been developed to simultaneously assess glucose concentrations in urine and hemoglobin levels in blood. This innovation plays a crucial role in the effective monitoring of diabetes and anemia. The sensor detects small changes in the refractive index of blood and urine caused by variations in glucose and hemoglobin levels, enabling accurate assessments and determination of disease severity. Simulation results show excellent sensitivity, with values of 494&#xa0;deg/RIU and a figure of merit of 131.7 RIU<sup>−1</sup>. The sensor’s design is validated using MATLAB simulations and COMSOL Multiphysics software. This approach highlights the growing use of plasmonic and photonic techniques in medical diagnostics for early disease detection.</p>
