Other risk factors such as tobacco smoking, lack of exercise, obesity, an unbalanced diet, alcohol consumption, or tumor-related chronic infections can further increase or amplify the risk of cancer. Therefore, people with type&#xa0;2 diabetes mellitus should follow a healthy lifestyle and regularly participate in established cancer screening programs.</p>
