Umwelt, Klima und Diabetes: ein internationales Thema

Every individual with diabetes on this planet is affected by changes in the environment and the climate. At the same time, the treatment of so many individuals itself harms these factors. It could be assumed that the relevant professional societies and health organizations, as well as health policy, have initiated corresponding activities. In reality, however, this is not the case. At the local level, on the other hand, there are many projects and initiatives to help individuals with diabetes. The manufacturers of antidiabetic medicines and medical devices used in diabetes therapy are aware of the problems they face, but the extent to which they are implementing changes in the production, storage, and transport of their products is difficult to judge from the sidelines. Individual manufacturers offer recycling projects for certain products. The importance of environmental factors for individuals with diabetes is not well enough recognized and the consequences are not pursued consequently enough.
