PRO-MENTAL: Präzisionsmedizinansatz zur mentalen Gesundheit für Menschen mit Diabetes
摘要
People with diabetes report relevant impairments of quality of life and mental health more frequently. However, the individual mental concerns and disorders may be varied and diverse, and the interactions with diabetes and glucose vary between individuals. Therefore, a precision medicine approach for mental health is required for optimal mental healthcare. Using precision monitoring of mental health aspects and glucose over 2 years and five assessments, the PRO-MENTAL Study aims to identify evidence-based subtypes, patterns and trajectories of mental health in diabetes. The combination of essential person-reported outcomes (PRO), ambulatory daily surveys and continuous glucose monitoring from repeated assessments enables analyses of relevant links and pathways between diabetes and mental health on the individual level. The results serve to develop a precision medicine approach for optimised care and fostering of mental health in diabetes using personalised interventions. This paper explains the aims and methods of the study, reports on the ongoing participant enrolment and the initial results on PRO and mental health outcomes.
