Diabetes mellitus in der Rehabilitation der Deutschen Rentenversicherung (DRV)

To qualify for rehabilitation financed by the German Pension Insurance, it is mandatory that the claimant’s earning capacity is decreased or at risk due to illness or disability and that this decrease/risk can be improved or removed via rehabilitation. Diabetes mellitus is a disorder with numerous risk factors as well as chronic sequelae. The treatment of such a complex disease aims at improving metabolic parameters and treatment of sequelae as well as at minimising risk and cofactors, while taking the individual’s psychosocial background into account. The simultaneous approach of several disorders and risk factors during a multidisciplinary multimodal therapy with behavioural treatment aspects produces a synergistic effect for the entire disorder.
