摘要

Insulin pump therapy is now the most common form of insulin administration in children and its use is also steadily increasing in adults. This also applies to continuous glucose monitoring. Combining the two systems offers the possibility of controlling insulin therapy semi-automatically using a control algorithm (automated insulin delivery [AID]). Premeal bolus administration is an integral part of successful therapy and should be part of structured training. With an AID system, in addition to lowering the glycated hemoglobin level (HbA1c), sensor parameters of glycemic control can be reduced. Quality of life also improves. National and international guidelines for type 1 diabetes define AID therapy as the standard in children and adolescents and as the therapy of choice in adults if therapy goals have not been achieved. The AID system should be chosen by the user after individual counseling.
