Periphere Neuropathie bei Diabetes (Teil 2)
摘要
Management of diabetic distal symmetric sensorimotor polyneuropathy (DSPN) comprises three cornerstones in terms of a holistic multimodal concept considering the individual risk profile aimed at durable improvement in quality of life: 1. causal treatment: optimal diabetes control including lifestyle modification as a basic measure and multifactorial cardiovascular risk intervention; 2. pathogenesis-oriented treatment; and 3. symptomatic treatment of neuropathic pain. A stepwise approach to treatment of DSPN using an evidence-based algorithm has been recommended. Multimodal pain management should not only aim at pain relief, but also enable a sustainable improvement in sleep quality, mobility, and general quality of life.
