Didactic proposal for environmental education from school and indigenous knowledge
摘要
The current environmental crisis that the planet is experiencing demands the formation of citizens who are sensitive to their natural environment. In this sense, environmental education could contribute to this objective, but it is necessary to rethink the teaching and learning processes, because considering only the knowledge contemplated by the school curricula has not been enough for this purpose. So, it is necessary to consider the indigenous knowledge and knowledges that have as educational purpose the respect and care for the natural environment. Thus, we propose a concrete example of a didactic proposal that considers both the Chilean curricular bases and the knowledge of the Mapuche people. It is hoped that this proposal invites and allows teachers to consider an educational experience with an intercultural perspective in order to implement and promote an education with social, cultural and territorial relevance that allows the formation of sensitive and sustainable citizens with the environment.
