Does Consciousness Research Apply to Quantum Mechanics?
摘要
Explaining consciousness phenomena within the framework of quantum mechanics has become a new trend in the field of consciousness research. However, the relationship between the two and whether consciousness research is applicable to the explanatory framework of quantum mechanics have always been unresolved difficulties. The connection between quantum mechanics and consciousness is made because there are some similarities between the two, such as the presence of uncertainty, superposition states, and entanglement. This study discusses these three aspects separately and further explores the relationship between consciousness research and quantum mechanics on this basis. The paper posits that the emergence of consciousness is inextricably linked to the superposition state of quantum systems. Specifically, the superposition state of quantum systems is a condition for the emergence of consciousness, and the function of consciousness is to process these superposition states, often leading to their collapse. Therefore, exploring the relationship between consciousness and quantum mechanics from the perspective of neuroscience is a direction worth attempting. However, there is still a long way to go to transform these theories into empirical science.
